The Jigsaw Data Hub has been designed to gather data from a site using a low power radio receiver or directly connected peripherals. The data is then stored in memory and analysed. If the data exceeds a defined alarm level, then GPRS communications is initiated and the data passed over the Internet to a specific PC or the jigsaw data hub.
Jigsaw Data Hub
The ability for the hub to gather data from a number of sensors over a radius of up to 1Km means that the cost of instrumenting a site is much reduced. The hub is battery powered with a life of up to 2 years (without solar recharge) and can operate in two modes :
1/ The hub waits until a prearranged time and then wakes for a period and “listens” to the surrounding sensors. Once the listening period is over, the hub communicates the gathered data over the Internet to the central host system.
2/ The hub is listening all the time so that it can react immediately to alarms reported from its surrounding sensors.
Typical Applications for the Hub are :
- Sewer / CSO’s / River Flood Warning
- Road Gully Silt Build Up System
- Commercial Wash Room Monitoring
- Refrigeration System monitoring
The System can also have a Jigsaw Rain Gauge attached which has no moving parts and hence required very little maintenance. Data from the rain gauge is typically 10 times higher resolution than that from a tipping bucket type gauge.
