Maintaining the countries roads with only the minimum disruption to traffic flow has been a long term problem for the Highways Agency and its contractors. The biggest conflict is that inspection or preventative maintenance can cause disruption in itself.

Jigsaw Road Management Products.

Jigsaw are developing products which can feed back the status of Highways assets without the need for costly traffic management and the consequent disruption in traffic flow.

Jigsaws first product in this family is a probe which detects the build up of silt in road gullies, giving a timely warning so that gully cleaning may be scheduled and targeted on those gullies most in need of cleaning.

Two more products are under development which will use the same communications network, further reducing costs.

The Gully monitoring probe was shortlisted for the Institute of Highways and Transportation award for Technological Application.

Jigsaw are working with A-One, part of the Colas Group on this project.
